Elstree Studios-an update
Thursday, April 23rd, 2009Rogue is going to set up and pioneer a full data workflow and shooting infrastructure at Elstree Studios in the UK. This will entail not only having our F35/F23/Viper/SI-2K cameras on site for all Elstree Productions but to install and run the UKs first dedicated green screen studio fully equipped with F35s and data DFR recorders.
Having a fully installed green screen ready to run from the start will enable Productions to literally walk into the studio and start shooting to disk from F35s and capture the very highest quality DPXs for either Pop promos, VFX or Feature pick up shots. All workflow and editorial will be already installed and running on site.
This is just one of many new and exciting developments at Elstree that Rogue Films is helping to install, with full 3D capable set ups and studios also being planned.
More to come….
Cheers

F35 Custom Gamma Curves
Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009We now have a full range of custom gamma curves to squeeze even more from the F35 and achieve much more desirable results. By loading in these curves a DP now has much more control over the way in which the F35s CCD will react, almost recreating varying film stock type responses, by using custom curves designed for the exact response you wish to achieve from the F35.
Call now, or e-mail, for image examples of F35 Hyper Gamme, then Log then with the custom curves applied.

F35 data commercials workflow
Tuesday, April 21st, 2009
Workflow ideas for the F35 shooting uncompressed image data. Record the F35 as fully uncompressed DPX frames, as film frames, direct to disk. No rendering or waiting required as the DPXs are recorded directly and are instantly available to ingest, playback and offline.
This workflow would be for a commercial shooting from the F35 for say two or three days where you can then offline the DPXs directly into Post and start work straight away.

F23/F35 and USTV/Hollywood
Monday, April 13th, 2009USTV shows have adopted the F23 and now the F35 as their choice now for high end 444 image capture. The following shows are now shooting with the F23 : Priviledged, Weeds, Gossip Girl, Knight Rider 2009, The Starter Wife, Dexter, The Unsusuals and Everybody Hates Chris. More shows coming out have gone with the F35 as well and they are proving extremely popular due to the ease of the post path and the extra dynamic range these cameras employ.
